A New Chapter: The Evolution of The Bloom Pod

In early 2020, I had an itch to be more creative and to put more things into the world. I didn’t want to just create content for the sake of it, but to build something meaningful — something that would challenge me, stretch my skills, and open doors for connection. That is ultimately what led me to create and launch The Bloom Pod in April 2020 and my website later that year. What started as some outlets for creativity, quickly became so much more.

The Bloom Pod served a vehicle for connection during the early part of the pandemic when we were all feeling a little isolated. It also provided an avenue for me to practice my interview skills in preparation for my doctoral dissertation research, which I was gearing up for at that time. My website also became a working portfolio of sorts: a home for my blog, podcast episodes, and more.

If you’ve been following along, then you know that The Bloom Pod has taken quite a hiatus — almost two years to be exact.

During the last season we put out (season 4), the conversations naturally gravitated toward sports and leadership — and we talked with guests about all the blooming that happens at the intersection of those two things. What began as a broad mission to talk to “every day people” doing their damndest to chase big dreams began to zero in on a space that has always been important to me: sports.

Those more sport-related conversations combined with my doctoral research and the long-overdue arrival of investment and growth in women’s sports has brought me some clarity as to what is next for The Bloom Pod. After 49 incredible episodes, it’s time for The Bloom Pod to evolve.

Introducing: Hang Time

I’m so excited to share that — just in time for Women’s History Month — The Bloom Pod is officially being rebranded to Hang Time, a podcast focused on women’s sports.

Our format and most of our mission will remain the same — to bring you engaging conversations, insightful interviews, and deep dives into the stories that matter. But now, those conversations will have a more specialized focus on honoring the past, celebrating the present, and dreaming up the future of women’s sports.

Women’s sports are in a moment of undeniable momentum, and there are so many stories that deserve a dedicated platform. The brand evolution to Hang Time is intentional:

  • Hang Time is a sport-related pun (for jumping high and hanging in the air; e.g. “wow, she had some hang time!”);

  • The name Hang Time also reflects the vibe we’re going for — to “hang” out and have important conversations in a casual, accessible setting; and

  • Our new podcast art has an intentionally vision board-y look, which reflects the aspirational aspect of what we believe women’s sports is building toward.

Thank you so much for following along with The Bloom Pod the last few years, and I hope you’ll continue to hang with us for what’s next.

Let’s get some Hang Time. First episode coming to you in March 2025 🎙️
